Japanese Culture Celebrated at the Chicago Botanic Garden

Learn about the arts, culture and history of Japan during special programs in the Elizabeth Hubert Malott Japanese Garden and during a bonsai opening celebration and bonsai and ikebana shows held at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
It all begins with the Malott Japanese Garden Spring Weekend on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30. That same weekend is the Ikenobo Ikebana Society Show presented by the Chicago chapter of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society. The Ikenobo Ikebana Society will also demonstrate traditional Ikenobo Ikebana flower arranging techniques and demonstrate Japanese Tea Ceremony. The Malott Japanese Garden, also called Sansho-En (the Garden of Three Islands), is a Japanese stroll garden with more than 280 types of plants hardy to the Midwest.
